Whatever I feel like making it about

Just when I think I’m done, I get sucked back into the dishcloths. I really, really was done for now until I accidentally went to Hobby Lobby yesterday (shut up) and found the brown and blue that go with this variegated I already had. So I will make a set with the horse design and then really be done. Honest.

Now, this cotton star blanket. I must decide whether to grab another ball of the variegated and do another round or two, or go ahead and switch back to white. I can’t decide, which is kind of pathetic.

My sweater, the one for me and only me, is coming along. This is a great no brainer knitting project. I’m sure I will change my mind about that when it comes time for sleeves and stuff. But the bottom part is fun.

The giant, no pattern, bag that will be felted got a boost from a friend who sent me these lovely colored yarns to stripe it. I still don’t know how big or exactly what this thing is going to look like, but the very randomness of it appeals to me.

Now, what the hell is it about this season that makes me think I can turn out an endless amount of projects in limited time? Besides the above yarn projects, I am committed to doing a few squares for Warm Up America.

Then I decided I must make the baby some hats with the leftover fleece from her slings. Thank you again, Hobby Lobby, for the .99 pattern yesterday.

One project that has been calling to me for a very long time is the Jordy Bag. When exactly I will find time for this, I don’t know. House guests, holidays, my oldest son’s birthday, does none of this register in my brain? Denial is bliss, I suppose.

I really must quit starting new projects. My stash is in a horrific state of disarray as well. Yet nothing seems to motivate me.

I started a sweater, my first grown up size sweater, and my first thing to keep for my very own self (besides the phone cozy). I’m using this pattern so far, but don’t want to do a variegated top and probably will roll the neck.

The random bag is progressing, it is a big one so it seems to go very slowly. Hopefully once I start adding bits of bright color it will pick up, or at least feel like it has.

Hmmm what else is in this yarn tote? A star blankie! I’ve done at least, what, two or three rows since last time I posted about it? Now I’ll feel guilty and get it in gear for this project. That’s the theory, anyway.

Finally we have…wait for it…a dishcloth set in the works. No. Way. Yes. This is a cute teacup cloth that is finished, the variegated cloth to go with it, and there will be a yellow teacup cloth to round out the set.

The little crochet eggplant hat/mitt set has not changed since I started it. As you can see by the number of mindless, in the round type projects going on here, my brain is still rebelling against anything that needs counting or special stitches.

Hey, where have I been? Nowhere. Nothing exciting to post, so here the poor neglected blog sits.

I did attempt a halloween costume for the baby. After this picture things went downhill, I cut the face hole too big and am having indecisiveness issues about adding sleeves. So it is in the corner waiting for me to make up my mind on the next move.

Then I tried to rewrite the alien cloth pattern. The first version is now listed on another site, which I have to admit made me a little giddy. This second version kind of looks…exactly like the first one, doesn’t it? Crap. Well I’m moving on to a gingerbread man cloth, so this is Alien 2.0 for now.

After the alien cloth, the prospect of casting on another dishcloth made me twitch a bit. So, I started this random, no pattern, whatever comes off the needles happens, tote bag. It is just fisherman’s wool and will be felted, hopefully with a colorful accent or two if I can dig up the odd bit of yarn for that.

There are a few other projects I should be working on, but, well, I don’t feel like it. I’ve been busy doing all kinds of crazy supermom stuff instead of knitting. That has really got to stop.

Another day, another dishcloth. This time another pattern as well, whee! It does look like a Christmas tree, right? Sure.

I’ve got this crazy idea that I can declutter my house and prepare for two upcoming craft fairs without losing my mind. Perhaps I should have a little lie down.
