Do you believe in magic? I think I do now. This is my first attempt with the Magic Loop, a simple baby hat. I’m not sure how it will work when the decreases start, but we’ll worry about that when the time comes.

Sewing project of the day is these three seam baby footies, which came to a grinding halt when I found nothing small enough to get the elastic through the casing. I’ll pick up some wee safety pins or something when I am at Joann’s this weekend buying fleece for the jigsaw blanket.

For no reason at all, here’s my new toy.

Is it over yet? Not that I don’t enjoy the holidays, it’s just that…I don’t enjoy the holidays. I do my best to make them wonderful for my children, but other than that, bleh.
The new sewing machine is here. YAY. I feel like I’ve traded in an old Pinto for a Thunderbird. I have plans for this baby. Big plans. As soon as I figure out all the little dials and thingymadoodads. Yeah.
My knitting is in a complete slump. After the wrist injury I never really got back up to speed. The sweater, star blanket, and giant random tote are still in the knitting bag, calling my name weakly, knowing I’m not going near them just yet.
Meanwhile, I’ve been reading the best book, called Swan Song – I do love a post-apocalypse story. The endless ways the world could end fascinate me. Morbid, I know. What can you do.
In a valiant attempt to jump start my knitting obsession again, I am tonight going to attempt a simple baby hat using the Magic Loop technique. Sometimes a new way of doing things gets me going again. I’ll be using my brand new Addi turbos, so that will be doubly exciting.
No pictures today. Just rambling. Sorry.

Never let it be said I am heartless. Ok, it has been said. But look, a heart dishcloth. How…cute! I’m also working on a pair of pink socks, but I forgot to take a picture of that and am far too lazy to go do it now.

Now if you will excuse me, there is a four foot high mountain of fleece waiting to become hats, mittens and scarves over in the corner. Also a not insignificant pile of flannel that will be blankets by tomorrow. Because I know how to have fun.
