Oh happy day, I finished something. The butterfly pattern has now been fixed so it definitely, definitely has a head. See the head?

I also finished the main bag parts of that roundabout I was supposed to have done back in July. Now it wants 52″ of i-cord for a handle, and then felting. Um. I don’t want to make any i-cord. So I’ll just be googling for alternative ideas for a bit, and then casting on a garterlac dishcloth to continue easing my way out of laziness.

Yeah, I’m still not doing any knitting. Not even thinking about knitting much. I’ve started listening to some knitting podcasts while I do other stuff around the house, hoping to get motivated. It might be working.
Other things around the house also include our new dog, we got him on Monday. He was a shelter rescue, and obviously a very spoiled pet before he got lost. It is really nice to have a dog around again. Meet Dexter:

But wait, I did do something with fiber. While the sister was visiting, she had some dyeing requests, and yesterday I finally finished them.
First, some really chunky Noro handspun she got at the yard sale, that was natural colored. She wanted an orange to go with the red and purple of the same yarn she got that day.

This was a natural yarn her friend wanted in pink and purple. It took two tries to get the colors bright (we won’t even worry about even, ok? ok.) enough to be girly.

What was this? Oh, this was some Paton’s Original Wool that she had been given for a Stitch n Bitch meeting. The color was a very scary drab olive green. Now it is just, um, a scary weird green. It looks better in person. Also we should have just gone with a blue overdye the first time and not tried to do 1/2 in yellower tones.

Finally, the only thing I had to go on here was “ocean colors, like blue, green, grays.” Well, I don’t know how to get gray with food coloring (my weapon of choice at the moment) so I went with various blues and greens. I think it turned out pretty. Perhaps even too pretty for someone who was thinking in gray tones. Oops.

That’s it. The craft pit’s state of chaos and squalor has been upgraded from Nightmare Inducing to Hey Look, the Floor Shows Through! I might even finish it before she comes back to visit again. Maybe.

Almost a month. I am sorry. Last night was blogger’s fault, anyway. I did have this stuff ready to post. First thing on today’s to do list will be find a different blogging thingy.
So yeah, it’s been 100 degrees forever, weather finally cooled off last week or so. Here’s a little mishmash of what I’ve been doing besides lying under the celing fan and waiting for fall.
Top priority project that is taking forever – this star blanket. My wrists are not cooperating and letting me crochet a whole lot, but it is slowly getting done.

You know those cool tie neck things? With the gel crystals in them? I made a few billion of those. Here are a few. This was a fun project, first time my rotary cutter really came in handy. I didn’t even cut myself. Shocking.

What else. This is a Runabout bag almost done, for the August? July? Bag Me KAL. Obviously I have been slacking mightily there and they all probably hate me. Sorry baggers! I will do better!

This is a little bag I was trying to make self=stripe, but it ended up doing the same swirly thing as the last one. That’s ok, too. I like it. There isn’t much of this yarn left, so I’m trying to decide about wood handles and things for this.

Currently I am knitting up the butterfly pattern again, having gotten a report that the poor thing is still headless. If it needs changing I will fix it. Also the truck and penguin patterns are in the hands of Terri for test knitting again. Honestly that penguin one about killed my last brain cell, and will probably need reworking at least once.
Ok. Back to this thing called life. Later kids.
