The Gay Man has spoken, and the straps/trim will be a combination of…the purple and yellow. Let’s see how that turns out. Maybe he’s not actually gay, he just has a wide stance? Maybe. I need to look up and decide on a stitch for the trim…venturing into my vintage crochet books, dangerous territory.
This…is nothing to do with the sundress, this is me playing ‘how fast can I knit a chemo cap’ for a friend who is collecting them. It coincides nicely with the general ’sock knitting – do not want’ state of mind I’m in right now. Still refusing to admit defeat on the 52 Pair Plunge, however.
So this is the blue chemo cap, take two. First attempt on magic loop just wasn’t working. I’ve been missing my dpns anyway.

So there you go.

The little sundress is so close to being done. The other night I was up too late knitting and messed up the ribbing a wee bit, so decided to bind it off, and crochet on some kind of frilly edging and straps. This is what it looks like now.

Why am I stuck? The yarn won’t tell me which color to use. Continue the purple? Revisit the yellow or green? Or bring in something else entirely to go with the new texture? My options from the Cottonease stash are pink and blue. Until the color works itself out, this will never be done.

I’ve gone back through this whole blog and put the pictures back. Thanks to drag and drop ftp program and actual sort of organization on my hard drive, it wasn’t too bad. Just boring. Also sorting out the bits from way back when I was in my 3rd trimester of
hell the miracle of pregnancy was kind of dicey. Where was my brain?
It was fun revisiting a few of the more horrific moments, like the Cheap Lunchmeat colorway or the Puke Sack. Good times! There is probably something deeply wrong with me that I enjoy my screwups as much as the successes.
One thing I cannot believe never made the blog was this attempt at making a stuffed animal. The pattern says lamb. I say that’s the last time I try making stuffed animals. It is still sitting here on a shelf nearby and makes me laugh just by looking at it.

For truly ancient crap I have made and inane ramblings I have written, I made the old blog public again as well.
Doing some rearranging on the podcast blog, which still exists mostly in a steno book I carry around scribbling in all day and then try to make sense of at night.

I only blocked it for a little while, so it is looking a bit wonky. Sorry about that. I just want this project over and done so I can move on to the next…and the next…it never ends.
Pattern link should be in the sidebar soon.

That’s it for tonight. I’d tell you a story or something but I am just not in the mood.

Twinsanity recognized that one very (very. hm.) quickly. Thanks to all who guessed when it was hard. This was kind of fun, I need to think of a new contest.
The full pattern for the marijuana leaf cloth will be posted as soon as I finish knitting it. Next month’s pattern has yet to be decided, but a contest will probably go on for that one as well.

So here it is up to row 30 of 52.
Guesses must be posted in the comments or they don’t count are we clear on that now?
No other knitting news really. I have two weeks to live, I mean I have two weeks until I am officially a Soccer Mom. I’ve been busy getting things under control at home and practicing my ‘go away you stepford wife freak’ glare for the other soccer moms.
Anyway. This side

I did not knit a stitch last night or today, and I feel an early sleep coming on. Tomorrow night, more of the cloth. None of the guesses to date are correct, feel free to guess again tomorrow.
I started a second blog (since I keep up with this one so very well) that is about my unholy love of my ipod, and all the best podcasts that I put on it. http://awesomepodcasts.blogspot.com/ Check it out, ipodders.

Now 21 rows (out of 52) are done for the new cloth. I’m posting pictures of both sides, because I think maybe it is easier to tell what is going on from the ‘wrong’ side.

I do mean little. This is the next pattern that will be published on my site. I have already test knit it, fixed it, and test knit it again, but can I find it? No. Can I find a picture of it anywhere? No.
So I’m going to re-knit it, and take pictures daily of the progress. First person to guess what this pattern is wins a prize. If you knit or crochet, it will be a nice little yarn freak type package. If you don’t, what the hell are you doing reading a knitting blog? I’ll knit you something, ok?
Entries must be made in the comments on this blog so everyone can see when you made your guess. You can guess more than once, but don’t go crazy on me. I’ll go crazy back. You don’t want to see that. Really.
So here it is, all of 2 rows actually involve the pattern so far. Good luck with that.

So, I have been knitting a little bit. Honestly, Texas in the summer is no place or time for knitting, especially wool socks. These little things were started a few months ago but I can’t bring myself to work on them right now. I know I am way, way behind on the
52 pair plunge, but refuse to admit defeat just yet. I can catch up this winter…no really.

Most of my knitting time has been spent on this little cotton sundress for my daughter. I’m getting a few inches away from needing to shape the top part and make the straps. This started from the Summer Swing Top pattern on this page and took off on its own. My oldest son told me it is hideous, and wanted to know who made me use these colors? I think she will look like a lovely little flower with a swirly green skirt. We’ll see who is correct.

When I need to avoid dealing with how to shape the dress, or the complexity of the 2×2 rib is too much for me, there is of course another felted bag on the needles. Probably a bucket style with the buttonhole handles, because that is the easiest/laziest/whatever.

Not knitting, but sewing, I made a couple of blankets, this one is waiting for me to finish the matching doll sling. Which I am trying to remember how I modified the pattern for so that it makes sense in my head.

That’s all the knitting news I have at the moment. Thanks to everyone who stuck with me during the broken site days, there are a few things still to be done around here but I’m begging someone who knows what she is doing to help me with it. (love you G)
