Suck it, 2007

Posted by randomnicole on December 31, 2007

I’m over you. Completely. Ok, you weren’t the worst year ever, but out of the last 40, you were not my favorite. I will not miss you. So there.

As much as I resist the whole New Year’s Resolution crap (I don’t even accept time as a linear concept!), there are a few new things going on this year with the show, the blog, life, etc. I guess that’s tomorrow’s post.

the "pattern" for my OCD dishcloth

Posted by randomnicole on December 30, 2007

As discussed on our show, one of my many manifestations of the crazy is a fixation on the number six. So in an attempt to kick start my knitting again, I made the dishcloth (see the post just before this for picture) all about six. I call it Six Owns Me, and this is how I did it.

Cast on 42 stitches

Knit 6 rows.

pattern:

1. k6, (sl3 wyif, k3) until last 6 stitches, k6
2. K6, p30, k6
3. Knit across
4. K6, p30, k6
5. k6, (k3, sl3 wyif) until last 6 stitches, k6
6. Knit across

repeat these 6 rows 6 times (no, really?)

Knit 6 rows and bind off.

In other news, Bear Jesus left my home to begin his journey, all that silliness is documented here.

Finally, a show I’ve started listening to that I really enjoy, the only music podcast I subscribe to, Friday Night Live With Monty. Check her out, she’s so fun.

We’re recording tonight with a public school teacher as our guest, that should be interesting!

Also kicking off a no soda, no fast food, exercise thing that I’m not really ready to deal with yet. We will speak no more of that today.

yeah, that every day thing didn’t work

Posted by randomnicole on December 28, 2007

Too many places on the internets to keep up with to do daily blog post, apparently. I can do daily inane twittering, but there just isn’t that much to blog about.

Besides, the podcast editing is a bit time consuming, now the whole Bear Jesus project, and well, that whole family and house thing going on. Life, how dare it.

I did finish a dishcloth, it’s not so much a pattern as a study in OCD. I’m calling it Six Owns Me. Here is a picture, I will write out the pattern tomorrow. Maybe even make one of those cool pages for it. I might have enough skills for that.

As you can tell by the colors, I did mean to have this one done a couple of weeks ago. Oops.

Favorite net toys at the moment:

Finally my blogs, news, email, calendar, and various internet crap is almost kind of organized!

frig got a blog

Posted by randomnicole on December 22, 2007

squee

Would it count as productivity if I added a blog list over there -> ? Does this count as a blog entry? I did not do one last night, as we recorded another freaking episode of the podcast that ate my life.

Ok, the show is the most fun thing I have done in a long time, but that’s beside the point. Don’t derail a good whine.

Tomorrow is present wrapping night (boo) but my friend is coming over to hang out and make it less boring (yay). Hoping to get a show episode out today/tonight.

Not feeling the need to bake. Something is very, very wrong.

Managed a batch of brownies and half of an edit. I’m such an overachiever.

Cemented my place in hell.

on the whatever day of blogging

Posted by randomnicole on December 20, 2007

Ok the other pictures from the salt dough thing are no longer relevant. I’m over it. Today I did get all the photos and christmas cards and crap out, in the mail, gone. Done.

I edited part one of episode 24 of the podcast, twice. Don’t ask. Gaping maw of incompetence indeed. Bleh.

So tonight, I’m doing this stupid thing that someone sent on myspace, the “soundtrack of your life.” You put your ipod (or whatever mp3 player is your buddy) on shuffle songs, and then randomly come up with this list. So here. If nothing else, it is a disturbing little peek at the stuff I have on my ipod.

Falling In Love: Stupid – Sarah McLachlan

Fight Song: Wonderful – Annie Lennox

i should be blogging

Posted by randomnicole on December 19, 2007

I should be editing and publishing a podcast episode. I should be uploading the rest of the pictures and crap from the salt dough day. I could even share the fabulous photo I got of all three children actually looking in roughly the camera’s direction today.

But no.

I’m trying to print out christmas card labels and crap. My print preview is perfect – what comes out of the printer, not so much. My printer is being a total little bitch and I want to smack it.

This evening can suck it.

was that right hand border always wonky?

Posted by randomnicole on December 18, 2007

Crap. I’ll have to see if I can fix it. Or find someone with skills to fix it. Anyway.

Recording podcast tonight. Still knitting new dishcloth. Still clinging to sanity by an invisible thread. This one’s for you V. My blog, I put some drivel on it for the day.

Making baby food jar snowglobes tomorrow. I got some cute little snowmen for the kids to put in theirs. Now to dig around my desk for something to put in mine…

this was going to be a good blog entry

Posted by randomnicole on December 17, 2007

I have all these pictures and stuff from yesterday, of all the craziness that was going on during that ornament…thing. I also started a dishcloth pattern. Then there’s that two part episode of the podcast I need to edit.

But tonight was completely consumed by trying to get a custom ring tone onto a phone despite my carrier’s ‘issues’ or whatever. There was a lot of twittering too, as several of my friends jumped on the twitter bandwagon this evening.
