I’m at the Louvre, or How awesome are the interwebs?

While checking in on some forums and social nets tonight, I attempted to help someone using my nefarious google-fu. Unfortunately for everyone, I became completely sidetracked and ended up at the “Imaginary exhibitions” section of the Louvre online.
In order to view the imaginary exhibitions, I had to install the Virtools plugin. My Flock browser accepted it without protest. Yay.
Once I played with it a bit and saw how cool it was, I figured I’d make a capture thingy with Jing and call it a blog post.
But I can’t seem to embed it or convert it or anything cool like that. There was also some incompetence involved, like the time I closed Jing before saving the file. Um, yeah. I can climb no higher on the learning curve tonight.
My computer was too wimpy to handle capturing and the 3D, but the 2D is also cool. I paused recording during the 360° tour, because it made me dizzy and I’m sparing you that pain. Go see it you can deal with that stuff. The 3D is awesome and was worth falling down a random tube on the interwebs tonight, even if it made me have Wolfenstein flashbacks. (Which omg you can download free here.)
I did learn a lot, actually. I’ll be paying for it tomorrow morning. Bedtime was two hours and 13 browser tabs ago. I should go get the coffee pot ready now.
